is it possible to create a guitar notation like this...?

I am now using a work-around to create such a notation by changing the notehead to stem-only and the move the second voice x -1,69,

I needed to do something similar ages ago for a piano part, and that was the only way I could find of doing it. It's long-winded & tedious, isn't it? If anyone does know a sensible way of doing it please let us know!

Andy, the examples I found typically show an 8th rest on the beat in the upper voice otherwise they look the same.

Hello Joseph and Tony,

well, this is a very common notation for guitar, - especially for beginners but can be found also in Tarregas music.

I can remember that I had some trouble in Sibelius 6 to place similar notes in 2 voices next to each other rather than on top of each other. So I thought it is possible to reset this settings.

When I place a rest of a :8: on the beat the :2: is not connected with a stem.

Agreed Andy.  The examples I found in an old collection of Renaissance pieces the half note stands alone and the three 8th notes are connected.  IMO, there is no difference in what the guitarist will play.  But remember, this is coming from someone who has not picked up a guitar in well over 30 years.  So, take it with a grain of salt.  maybe Adrian can offer an opinion. Found a (bit) better solution...

the :8: in voice one and the :2: in voice four.... So you only have to set the first :8: to "stem only" ....

This means only two extra clicks per bar.... :c1:
