I would dearly like to encourage all of these things here on SOS. I see that members pop in and out frequently.

What would stir you to add threads or posts here?

Most of the time I look at the SoS boards when I'm at work. This has the downside that I can't always see / hear what has been posted due to very strickt firewall regulations.

Simply put this is when I reply / post messages:
1- if someone posts new music (but I will admit that if I have trouble opening attachments and have to listen in the evening at home it tends to slip my mind..)
2- if there's a topic posted I have an opinion on (not always the case)
3- if I have a new composition finished
4- if I have something else new to report
5- if I have time for it; reading posts is easier than posting...

Same here - when I have something to say or to respond to I post. I guess you could say the rich get richer... when no one says much, there isn't much to say! But as to how to increase banter et al, I think mostly there just needs to be more people adding to the conversation, and that's hard to control. Sometimes, especially with many of us being amateur composers who work in other fields, it's hard to maintain ongoing dialog. More blood might help keep things flowing - of course you also run the risk of bad blood. Too much chatter of the wrong kind, as we've seen from time to time in other forums, isn't really better than occasional lapses of activity, is it?

I hope that you are finding that the conversation/information/appreciation aspect of the board is improving!
