programming soundsets

Does anyone know how to program soundsets?

I am looking for soundsets to run EastWest Colossus and Garritan Jazz-Bigband version 1.

Mr. Loving cannot help.

Thanks - I have checked this page before but all those are the latest versions. I have also contacted Jonathan Loving but he cannot help. It would be much too expencive when he does some extra-programming - too bad

JABB config starts at version 2 and Colossus is upgraded to Goliath. But I have both Colossus and JABB v1 and want to setup a computer for working when I am out of town.

yes I know - but the user-interface is a bit confusing me. A lot of setting I don't understand.... getting old... by the minute...

I will try. Maybe I find someone with a little experience.

Why don't you just update to JABB 3? It is not that expensive.

Well, my prob is that I am running a Windows 7 / 32-bit version. Being that this is giving me only 4 Gb Ram (no matter how much is installed) I am in need of DFD (direct from disk). The newer versions of GPO, JABB and MCB are not providing this function anymore.

The next step will be updating to a 64-bit version of Windows 7

I hope this will solve alot.

Maybe this will help at least as a work around. My wife gave me the Garritan Pipe Organ for my birthday back in September. I'd only used it minimal as there is not sound set for it
Well, it seems if you open the mixer in Sib and click on the "show plug-ins interface" button the Aria player opens. maybe you are aware of this function, I was not. At that point you can enter your choices into the Aria player without the need for a sound set and get perfectly acceptable results. (I guess I should spend a little more time tweaking the sound of my files . . . and learning a bit more about the misc software on my PC)

If he is on JABB 1.X then it would be the Kontact player that would need to be open, but same concept.

nice part is that you do not need to make that decision, it's automatic when you click the 'plug-ins interface' button!

Actually this is the way I am using JABB 1.x right now. It is shown in the pulldown-menu in the mixer-channels. When I click the gear-button (show plug-in interface) w/o selecting JABB first nothing happens at all.

Unfortunately hairpins do not work and I have to add controller-data ( ~C1,25) to control the mod-wheel which is being used as a volume-knob.

ah, hairpins, something I did not consider within the scope of playback of organ music. Since I am not in te position to add or withdraw the various stops as would a human performer I did not even take note of the fact that some controllers may need to be dealt with separately. I have toyed with adding and subtracting the various stops to get volume changes but only in real time via the GPO mixer. I have given much thought to actually scoring a piece to provide for a variety of registration changes but really I am much too lazy ;D

I just bought a SSD-hardrive which means I will switch to Win 7 64-bit on my music-computer which means I will use the old one for the out-of-town situation which means I can use the latest version of JABB which means all controllers can be controlled easily via Sibelius which means I am happy for the moment which means actually there will other unexpected issues soon which means ....

I hope so Andy. I am having problems with JABB and Sib 7 at the moment. The Garritan team are working on it at the moment.

It causes a restart of Sibelius.

autsch - that doesn't sound good - hope they will find the prob very soon... it is always anoying when you cannot get your ideas done when they show up...
