Lets meet in Frankfurt (Germany)

Hello,

I was zapping through the members music (soundclick-files) and was really impressed how beautiful their music is.

Well, from March 21 to 24 2012 Frankfurt Music Exhibition will open its gates again and I was wondering wether I could meet some of the SOS-members. I am sharing a booth with HeBu, a publisher for concertband music. (Halle 3.1 B22)

I am also wondering which of those music is actually published (not SE).

My Preludium has been published as part of a suite for wind band. I hope you manage to get your music out to a wider audience as well. A friend of mine has a publishing company in Germany. His name is Peter B. Smith, do you know of him at all? He sometimes goes to the same music fair.

Well, it is a bit far from Redwood country to Frankfurt, so I will not be there. However, Frankfurt is one of my favorite cities. There was a time when I knew it better than most people know their own home town. I have many fond memories of Frankfurt, including the rude old ladies on the Strassenbahn who always poked me with their umbrellas to get me out of their way. I must have looked quite German, as many Germans would stop me on the street and ask for directions, which I was pleased to be able to provide! I once gave a two day ad lib commentary, taking questions at an exhibition at the Messe Gelaende. I could carry on all night on my years there, but I will spare the details and say I had a wonderful time! Is the Altes Cafe Dauth Schneider still there, in Saachsenhausen, just across the Eisner Steg?

Hello Kevin,

Yes, I know the man who always shows up with a little story about whatever. We were sharing the same booth last year. We've had an Irish Dinner (Mr. Tullamore Dew himself) every evening.
I hope he will come next year, too.
I was thinking of Peter when I asked about publishers for SOS-music.
Randy Navarre from Northwestern Publishing will also be there. He publishes pieces for young windbands.

Well, Richard, I am not sure wether or not the cafe is still there. But I will find out in March. Promissed. I guess you know Frankfurt even better than me

I wish I could meet some of you. A little drink and a nice talking about music, the meaning of life, the universe, and......

He was my first Bandmaster in the Queen's Royal Irish Hussars, a real showman.

Wow, Kevin, this is so cool - this planet is such a small place - I really enjoyed his company. He always showed up with all this little stories.
